AndreaB
What a way to start a new week. I opened my kiln to find that it fired to high. I've had this before when the temperature reached well over 1260 o C but now the gauge read 1100 o C and normally this is the point where I start watching the cones. Up until now the gauge was 60 o out. Can I save these pieces by refiring?
MatthewV
Not really, no. Usually over-fired pieces that survive are pretty as long as they are free of defects.
AndreaB
do you think I could add luster to accentuate the matt finish?
Marcia Selsor
That's possible.Do you have drips and did it run? If so, make sure any sharp edges are ground down.
