vicflash
Hi all. I'm back into throwing after 30 years since college. Just got a Randall electric but it's missing the wheel head. Are there easy replacements or will I end up modifying another? The tapered shaft looks easy to accommodate with the help of the machine shop if I get the right alternative to start with. Tapering to keep it level and true is nothing I'd attempt without the engineering guys. Any suggestions please? Vic
Mark C.
I think you need to have wheel head machined to that taper to work-You may find a whole other kick wheel is cheaper than this buying a wheel head and machining it. Put the motorized part on another used kick wheel-these kick wheels are free to low cost as most do not want the big lunky things anymore. They pop up on crags list for low $ or haul away. You could post looking for a randall wheel head on potters barter site on Yahoo and see what turns up?
