  1. I have used a Bluebird Pug mill for the last 30 years or so..............love the pug mill...makes clay that is a wonderful consistency! Not to hard..soft, ready to throw. I always wedge this clay as it is just not ready for use without a bit of wedging. Pugged clay is not as good for hand building...wonderful for throwing and in the extruder for coils added to feet. 2. Years ago I traveled to England and visited Seth Cardew's studio....this bird plate has such a Cardew influence...did you study there??? Love it!
  3. Thanks for your lovely comments! Love the description "little red kiss"....that is what it is for sure. Pitchers have always been difficult for me...always learning after many years w/clay!

  9. When my shards are discovered by an archeologist/or Art Historian I hope they comment on the depth of the depth of the glaze colors and the textures that are still and forever on the surface...reflecting the mountains, oceans, rocks, plants. This makes a potter's work timeless and so connected to the universe. (oh, yes, and my beautiful PRIVATE COLLECTION) will also be well cared for, in one piece somewhere else!
  10. I Always hope my work week is only six days...this summer has been extremely busy with orders, so it seems every day is a work day! HOWEVER.....I break my days up with Yoga class in the mornings or at 4:30...coffee with my husband in the morning on the deck and a break at 6:00 in the evening! Keep things in balance physically, emotionally, spiritually and you will be fine working all the time! Hug your family!
  11. I would love to spend a week in the studio of Cynthia Bringle. Attended her workshop as I was a pottery student at ASU in the 70's and am still moved by her work. Anyone want to pass this along to her?
