glazenerd 1,807 Posted June 15, 2017 Report Share I would ask the influences for this form: but that is rather obvious. Quote Link to comment
Guest JBaymore Posted June 16, 2017 Report Share The hyotan gourd sake bottles from Japan. This of course is quite large compared to those forms....... a couple feet tall. Quote Link to comment
oldlady 3,631 Posted June 17, 2017 Report Share is the twisted rope effect simply from sodium silicate and stretching? or is there a secret to get that look. resembles branfman's raku work. Quote Link to comment
rakukuku 122 Posted June 18, 2017 Report Share Wonderful form. Hope you post a pic when it is finished. Quote Link to comment
Guest JBaymore Posted June 21, 2017 Report Share Lady, The lower part of the bottle form is first rope impressed and then sodium silicate is added over that...and then stretched. Steven is a good friend... and he gets his textures different ways. I don't think Ive ever seen him use sodium silicate. Quote Link to comment
