emma_19
Hi does anyone have any links to good purple slip recipes? (rather than glaze) The tones I'm after...plums, crimsons, mauve, a whole range really. I love the colours in Kirstie van Noort's collection: https://instagram.com/p/0XbpqRIdMN/?taken-by=kirstievannoort I realise that stains are more reliable than oxides but I like the way oxides have an unpredictable quality and richness about them. I have crocus martis but found when used on it's own it's quite dark/brown tinged, does anyone know what I could add to make it more purple and in what percentages? I thought about adding cobalt carbonate or manganese carbonate and/or tin oxide but it's just guess work so any hints/help much appreciated . Also, a recipe I found says to add 4% manganese carbonate to my slip base, do you think this will work? Thanks.
oldlady
those are lovely colors. they were achieved with LOTS of testing. ask the person who made them, they are possibly unique.
Colby Charpentier
If you're looking for variations in surface, do so through application or atmosphere. Not sure why you're interested in using colored slip without stains but want results similar to those attained with stains...
