at a brush-making workshop, the presenter started us off with making large circles with our arms fully extended to the sides of our bodies.  clockwise and then anti-clockwise.  fully extended so that we had to separate in the audience space in order not to hit each other.  it make a big difference after a few minutes doing this.

Here's a CAD video from Michael Kline.

I find brush work to be a bit intimidating and it causes me to hesitate and "stiffen up" when I start taking brush to pot.  If I consciously try to slow down and approach the pot with confidence, I get a better result. So for me, its as much loosening up my mind as it is loosening up my arm.

You put your right hand in
You take your right hand out
You put your right hand in
And you shake it all about
You do the hokey pokey
And you turn yourself around
That's what it's all about

Works for me
