Kaolinwasher
this is my small pro pain fired test kiln , it fires like a 50 cu ft kiln i now have 1.5 " ceramic five and 2600 insulating brick which keeps it from heating up to fast and cooling to fast , the burner is a shorty burner6.000 but to 15.000 but so far it has never busted a pot in bisq and it hits a perfect reduction in about 8 to 9 hours i just use a cone no pyrometer i now fire with two pro pain tanks connected and it does fine, the trick is if you reduce to much and see black smoke you are way to much in reduction, just make sure a faint blue flame is coming out the chimney and if it will not rise open up the chimney a bit i use two small bricks to close off the chimney for reduction. it has no problem knocking down the cone 8 like a wet noodle. in 8 to 9 hours i also bisq slow for 6 hours and let all the junk burn out . the only potts that bloted where my lizzella clay 100% just to much iron for reduction . and to much flux
High Bridge Pottery
Great little kiln you have made, did you increase the height of the chimney more than the little cylinder top in the video? How is the shelf holding up?
curt
Yes loving the look of this kiln. Have been thinking for a while of something like this for testing. Strange thought occurred, would it work if you wood-fired it? Anyway, will have a long look at some point cause I have bricks, burners, etc, destined for something like this.
