ronfire
Wondering if anyone has used an old commercial boiler from apartment heating system etc for a Kiln or possibly a wood burner boiler. Have thought about building one.
Marcia Selsor
I salvaged hard bricks out of an old boiler deep in the woods in upstate NY. If the boiler has a brick lining, use the bricks. Marcia
jrgpots
Some boilers use oil burners like the Beckett oil burner. The burner's output are sufficient. People have made oil burnering kiln. It would be lots of work. If you do it, take lots of picture of you progress. Jed

Marcia Selsor
I used oil burners and converted them to 3 nozzles each for changing the but output. Worked really well. You need to seal off secondary air to avoid clinker build up. http://community.ceramicartsdaily.org/gallery/image/3497-oil-fired-catenary-arch-kiln/ Marcia
