i spray greenware and fire it to cone 6. i can share the recipe if you like. it has barium carb in it and some people are frightened of using it. check the facts.

made me laugh also, the OCD folks came through and this morning i found all the birds piled up neatly by color, the hearts, circles, squares and others piled neatly by color in stacks of 6 or 7 each. every potter with baskets had the same experience. packed up only half of the $7 basket. the $9 basket was hidden in the dark so not as empty. no idea yet on total sales. today seemed slow. it was a sunday in the bible belt so no real traffic until after 12.
one of the first sold was the sparkly eyed cat. and the green is a big hit.

lovely design!

what happened to the one with the halo that all of us loved?
-
very nice! looks like something that dropped from a tree.

Clarice Cliff, watch out!

if you thumbtack a piece of white cotton to the back of the stepped display unit it will remove the distractions of the huge room full of people and let buyers see your pots.
-
you have been VERY busy!

thanks, roberta, terry buffington, pugaboo did the tree with her special cutting machine. the surrounding border is a paper i got many years ago in oregon. i only had enough for this design but a friend who was with me then had a long piece so i made the long tray, too. flocked tissue paper doesn't sound very sturdy but that is what it is.

does the silky matte have zinc in it? if not, i would like the recipe, please.

thanks, madeline, for all your help. this was a trial and everything that might be a variable was. i cannot believe how thickly i have to apply this glaze even though it looks normal once fired. it influenced the application of a different glaze, the turquoise, to the point that it became almost flat, hiding the cat below. now i have a new cat dish.

thank you all. yes, babs, i wanted a transparent green that would enhance texture, not cover it up. took this to Alexandria Va show over the weekend. sold other things but not this one. it is thin by stoneware standards but similar in thickness to commercially made platters. many people said they liked the work shown, first sale was the tree in a square. it is nice to hear after all the work to get to here.

thank you, i have added more copper to make it darker yet still transparent green. the thickness and location of the veins in the leaves and are part of the reason i use them. the heart shape is the added attraction. i believe that color is either 3 or 4% copper. i now use 5. see last photo this series.

which one, the Oribe or the new green below?
-
it will work well on interiors. i have a bowl with a similar glaze that i bought in the 70s. the potter put it on only the top third of the exterior and left the raw clay below. i still love it, cracks and all.

nerd, i just peeked at the refiring and see that the increase to 5% copper and a very heavy application may do the trick. stuff on the top shelf is dark enough. WOO HOO!!!!!

what do you think Antiques Roadshow experts would say about your pot? (smiling emoji goes here)

lee, good use of shelves, you can add some in between by getting some metal rod and drywall or wood boards that are the length of the shelves you have. insert the rods into the holes in the uprights as supports for the boards and you can double the shelving in the same number of square feet. very useful for short items that otherwise would be stacked and harder to use.

i might be having a senior moment. is this pot really old or is it an example of what you are able to make to look old?
-
FUN! i do something similar but smaller and on a metal rod to put in flowerpots. try some as cows, horns and all.
-
wonderfully exotic, did you get an order from Cleopatra?
-
attention all commercial pottery companies, HIRE THIS DESIGNER!

could not comment until today. this is spectacular and should be in a museum. keep it forever, marcia and leave it to the best ceramic museum in your will.

if you look at the many bowls on the slab roller in my gallery, empty bowls, 2015, you will see in the back the kind of thing i plan to do with these colors. the leaves are several shades of slip and now i have MORE!
