Guest Herb Norris
As someone who is interested in reduction firing, and, if possible, in my electric kiln, I was interested to come across this : http://puttgarden.co...lon/fallon.html I wonder what others make of this? Looks like it might be workable!
bciskepottery
What intrigues me is being able to program the reduction firing. A bit pricey though -- $12K, but at least it includes free shipping in the continental U.S.
Guest Herb Norris
I think the price you saw was for a custom built, brand new Euclid kiln; if you already own a kiln, a "Fallonator" add on kit can be had for $450, it uses the peep holes for the gas feed and O2 sensor. Pretty intriguing!
Riorose
Called strike firing if it is done after some cooling time. can have exquisite results.
