Bethany B
I’m wondering if it is safe to use a NEMA 6-50r to 14-50p adapter on a kiln. I have an existing 14-50 receptacle on a 50A breaker for an EV charger. I had it installed before I got into ceramics and realized most kilns require a 6-50 receptacle.
Mark C.
Many kilns draw 48 amps and you need a 60 amp braeker on those. I think cars need way less than 50 amps but 50 is the norm. You need to know what your kiln amps are and what wire size the car charger has as well as the breaker size. I have not looked up the plug question answer just talking about what you jhave and what your kiln will need. More info is needed 1st. welcome to the forum
neilestrick
What size breaker is the EV receptacle on, and what is the amperage draw of your kiln? The breaker size must be correct for your kiln.
