Older ceramic molds need a home

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am needing some direction. The potter than had these ceramic molds has died. Some of the molds were purchased in 1970's. Some are from the S-K Potteries and Mold Co. and many from other businesses. I would like to find homes for these items. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Sherri Roberts

The market for molds doesn't exist like it did 30 years ago. That said, there are still people who collect them and/or use them in their business. Are you looking to give them away or sell them? If you want to sell them, most commercial molds have model numbers on them, and you could put them up on eBay. If you're just looking to give them away, see if there are any pottery painting shops in your area that do their own castings and see if they want them, or could help you find a home for them.

Also, if donating, consider local ceramics classes, if they teach slip casting. If selling, yeah, eBay is the way to go, or place an ad in your local Potters Guild newsletter if they allow classifieds. Try to include photos.

Let me know what the molds are of. I may be interested in older Duncan molds. Especially tiki molds.

It's been several months since this thread was started. When  trying to reach someone directly, either @ them or better yet send them a direct message by clicking on their name and then on the message button.
