I'm the only one working in my studio (about 300-350 square feet); I mop and wipe surfaces often; I have one window; I keep on two fans. But I wonder if an air purifier would still be helpful? Can store-bought purifiers handle the dust of a studio? Does anyone have any brands or models they'd recommend? Thanks for any input! Phil0110 Posted October 27, 2022 Report Share Posted October 27, 2022 I can recommend Alen BreatheSmart Source: https://houseandbeyond.org/best-air-purifier-for-mold I've recentely purchased We've run this filter almost non-stop for six months in our high-allergen home (an old, damp farmhouse with pervasive spring-fall mold growth, two cats and a dog, lots of dust/pollen, where the HVAC system is windows and a wood stove) on the automatic setting, only vacuuming the filter twice so far, without any noticeable change in efficacy and the filter light (which changes color when it is time to buy a new one and again when it is time to change the filter) has not yet changed. sko Posted October 30, 2022 Report Share Posted October 30, 2022 I have a 27" x 48" closet that I've converted into a mini studio--a non-windowed 108 sq ft space. The closet is within an open plan NYC apartment. I am looking for something that will filter any clay dust near the closet door because I need to keep the door open while I'm working. I plan to also run the filter with the door closed when I am not working. I will be mindful of doing lots of wet sponge cleaning, and I have a covered reclaim bucket system to ensure that there are no dry clay bits. Pir Posted November 14, 2022 Author Report Share Posted November 14, 2022 I just got a TaoTronics TT-AP007 air purifier, two of them actually, unopened at a garage sale for $40 a piece. Can't beat that price. This one shows a PM value. When I turned it on, the PM was in the 30s; when I began mixing up dry materials for a glaze, the fan cranked up and the value rocketed into the 800s! So, it seems to detect the dust!
