Coril
I am new to pottery and don't have my own firing kiln. What I do have however is a small kiln for the purpose of firing metal clay. It heats to the temperature of 850 C (1562 F). The temperature is not adjustable, only this temperature can be used for firing. I am wondering if it would be possible to fire smaller pottery items with this kiln? As I understand it, usually pottery is fired with increasing temperature at different intervals at a time. So, is there any way I can get clay properly fired with this oven? Thank you for your input :)
neilestrick
It won't work for pottery. Even if you could slow down the rate of climb, it doesn't get hot enough for pottery. Even low fire work needs to get to at least 1000C. Pres
Coril
That's what I suspected. Thanks for confirming!
