suz davis
hello : ) i have an old gare manual kiln 1818 that needs a new switch. i've been in touch with even-heat, since they now handle gare kilns, but they no longer have them. they have something that will work, it's not ideal though. i am hoping someone has an extra switch...fingers crossed! Bill Kielb
Looks like an old 2 pole switch, what is the amperage rating. I think common now is 30 amp 2 poles (Industrial) for under $20.00. Lots of uses today from AC to heat pump hot water heater. If that’s rated less than 30 amps (can’t read the rating in the picture) then a new 30 amp 2 pole switch is something I would contemplate rather than a used one. Same mounting - single gang switch. suz davis
thank you so much!!! way cheaper than the one even-heat has!
Bill Kielb
Just Double check the amperage, please
neilestrick
I believe that kiln only pulls 24 amps, and each of the 4 elements is on its own switch, so a 20 amp 240 volt commercial duty switch would work fine. I've put them on that type of kiln with no problems.
