Misshapen after final firing

Hi!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my question! My work looks fine after a bisque firing but after the glaze firing it sometimes warps or becomes misshapen . Any tips to prevent this?

First to get some opinions, post a picture as it could be your clay body, the shape you are trying to maintain, and or the thickness and construct. I assume you’re ware has warped in some way but without a picture it’s hard to surmise why. Also include your firing range and current clay body to get lots of quality suggestions.

I made a spoon rest that flattened in a ^6 firing.  Sometimes, it's memory that causes stuff to warp.  In my case, the tail was "born" flat, and folded upwards.  In the ^6 firing, it remembered it used to be flat, so reverted.
