tonyp
Hi all - looking for confirmation that I'm on the right track here, thanks for any input. I have a little Cress 240v 24amp kiln with 30 amp plug. I plan to put it on its own 30 amp breaker + 30amp receptacle < 10' from the box. All of the electrical info I can find suggests 10awg for the line, I think the cord attached to the kiln is much larger. Am I correct in thinking 10 is the way to go for wiring? Thanks!! neilestrick
10ga is correct. The power cord may be oversized, and that's fine. Use whatever receptacle matches the plug as long as it's rated for at least 30 amps.
