Boswald
Has any one come across good recipes for making your own ceramic printer ink? CMYK colours?
PeterH
Sounds tricky. Are "process" cyan, magenta & yellow ceramic stains readily available?
Callie Beller Diesel
Hey neighbour! Welcome to the forum! I’ve never heard of anyone doing homebrew for this. If you’re using mason stains, I can see there being issues with particle size trying to go through the print head. They do exist though. I want to say that the one guy that keeps trying to make posts about decal printers once a year or so that he swears aren’t ads sells cartridges that will fit in some of the more high end office or home printers, usually the ones in the $800-1000 and up range. And I did a quick google search, and apparently the good folks at Ferro do these kinds of ink right here. The file attachment in the middle of the page indicates they make CMYK, RGB and some spot colours. I didn’t do a deep dive or anything to check into delivery systems, or if they’re available on small scale. But it seems like a good starting point for a nice rabbit hole.
