Hyn Patty
I'm hearing good things about this CimTalc but where is it mined? The company I pulled up on an internet search says Cimbar Performance Minerals out of Chatsworth, GA? This isn't coming out of China? If it works out that is right, and if it works well, that's just down the road from me....
Mark C.
This is huge Company if I recall-but most talc has been mined domestically - Back in the day you bought a bag of talc and asked no questiont as there was only one type When I started in the early 70s it was desert talc from the Mojave destert near Death Vally Ca. to another Ca talc mine . Then it switched to HT100 Talc from the Vanderbuilt mine in NY which later was found to have asbestos in it.Then or during that time texas talc became the dominate talc. I personally mostly use Serria Light talc (costs more) for 99% of my use except for My rutile base glaze wich I used Texas talk for (c-98) I still have some HT 100 New old stock as well as it needs special handling if I use any. all that said I do have a semi matt that only likes Desert Talc or HT100 the old asbestos bearing talc from NY Ok more talc talc than anyone needs to hear. This Cimbar Co. has many types of talc on that web site as well.
