Southern Ice Sue
I'm wanting to reduce my energy consumption by going to cone 6 fire. Previously I've fired to cone 8-9, and i have quite a bit of stoneware, porcelain and high fire slip that I want to use up. Can anyone tell me what negative results will happen to high fired clays and slips fired to 1200C? Many thanks Southern Ice Sue
Bill Kielb
They won’t be mature, fully vitrified so not as strong and maybe more porous than you would like for their use. Additionally glaze fit may be affected.
