Roberta12
I use Alumina Hydrate in wax on the bottom of my porcelain pots. I am almost out of it and remembered that I had "inherited" some Alumina Oxide. I have about 5 pounds of it. Can I use Alumina Oxide for the same purpose? I googled this and didn't get the info I was hoping for. I found an old John Baymore thread where he was talking about the difference between but I didn't have a sense of whether a substitution would work. Thanks! Min
Yup, it will be fine. You could cut it back by about 1/3 since the hydrate contains more water but not necessary for your purpose.
