Liam V
Are there any stores in Australia that sell dry clays that I can add water to? I've been buying the 10kg ready made packs but the dry clay I've been reading about seem easier to store, carry and are more cost effective. liambesaw
Probably not ideal unless you are either slip casting or have a pug mill/mixer. Mixing clay is a hard job
curt
I seem to recall that clayworks and walkers may have carried a few dry powder clays in the past, but only their more expensive ones, and possiblymcasting slip. Check their websites. But I agree with Liam that premixed clay is the way to go. Unless you have wet mixing tanks and a filter press handy, you will be hard-pressed to get consistency, plasticity, etc on par without a lot of small batch wedging. Casting slip is a bit different since it stays wet, but for throwing clay just leave it to the pros and buy premixed.
