AndreaB
Quick question. I have seen recipies calling for ball clay, can I use my throwing clay blended to a thin consistency with water? Thanks
Magnolia Mud Research
I have done that. It worked. Terra Sig is all about separating the very fine particles of clay from the rest of the crowd. Because clay bodies have other minerals besides clay, your yield will be less than from OM-4, EPK, or other clays. LT
Marcia Selsor
Ball clay is a fine clean clay. Can't say what is in your throwing clay. Is there any garden clay around your house? At La Meridiana, Pietro makes a beautiful orange terra sig from clay in the garden. If possible, use ball clay. Marcia
Marcia Selsor
Here is a fast and simple way to make terra sig. You don't need much clay 250 grams is plenty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwCxP5Hv08g Marcia
