Re: Mitch Lyons Clay printing Class
I saw, in another post, that you’d taken the clay printing class with Mitch Lyons and that he used “regular” paint and pastels. Does that mean he used acrylic or gouache as well as colored slip! Don’t want to ruin my slab with paint, but would love to have the option of using paint too!

I recall Mitch saying he used the paint as an indicator of the color he was expecting. Since before firing some of the oxides he used don't look much like they will afterward. The paint itself will all burn out.
A quick search of Mitch Lyons on YouTube will turn up a number of good videos.

Thank you!
I’m hand pulling prints using a clay slab and colored slip, and will continue to work this traditional way. No kiln involved. It’s a monoprinting technique invented by Mitch.
Also use his techniques for my kiln fired slabs.
