the carving part is fast, i may have spent an hour on these.  

I can see that your carving is done fast! It shows in the unwavering straightness of all the lines. Clearly, your muscle memory has been trained (by you, of course) to have a wonderful feel for this type of action. Your designs are appropriate for the medium, the strokes are beautifully executed, and even your pigmented areas (slip or stain?) are rich and even.

Way to go!
