spring
I had planned on doing my graduation show using southern ice. The transparence and purity of the white clay is essential to the concept of the piece. Now that it's not being shipped here anymore I'm freaking out. Can anyone offer suggestions on a good substitute?

Can anyone offer suggestions on a good substitute? Laguna's Frost is the only porcelain I know of (I've tested lots of them, but, of course not all, including Matt and Daves.) that is just as white and translucent as Southern Ice. It cracks more easily than Southern Ice. Unless things have changed in the last 6 months, they make cone 6 and cone 10 Frost but I've fired cone 6 to cone 11 in an anagama and it survived. Jim Thank's for the suggestion. I'll try it. I've used coleman porcelain alot and think it's not that close to southern ice. The translucency is nowhere the same.
