Leola
Someone can advise me in proper glue for porcelain on silver? Like it needs to be wearable and especially durable. Thank you
Cline Campbell Pottery
I suggest a two tube epoxy in either clear or white, if the porcelain is white. If you can, drill holes in the porcelain and in the silver for a silver peg (a bit of clipped wire). This can be tricky because the holes need to line up. Drill bits are available in remarkably tiny sizes from jeweler's suppliers. Glue the peg in place, let it set a bit, smear the epoxy on the surface where they will touch and the other end of the peg, leaving a margin around the edges so you don't have to remove the epoxy that oozes when you press the surfaces together. Place the piece where gravity will help to hold all the parts in position use rubber bands to apply pressure to the joint until the epoxy is set according the directions on the package. If the epoxy does ooze out wipe it off as soon as you can while it's still soft.
