Anneke9
Hi: I made several pieces using a red clay. Does anyone have suggestions for raku glazes that will work well/look good on red pieces? Thanks.
Marcia Selsor
Have you fired this red clay in raku before? It may not have the thermal shock requirements you need for raku if it is a tight earthenware body. Just a thought. Marcia
synj00
There is a glaze called Azurite that my supplier makes but its for cone6. A beautiful waterfall blue on a high iron content clay. I think you might want to just look for raku specific glazes. Cone6 will not melt properly at raku temperatures. You can try different color slips and then fire with a clear crackle raku glaze? Let us know how it works out!
