AWPottery
I have some pots that were fired with a white crackle glaze in raku and I was told to bring out the cracks even further you could rub india ink on the pot. I purchased some india ink and painted some on the pot and let it dry and little and then wiped it off. It didn't seem to do anything. Am I doing this wrong or are you supposed to do something different? Or does it take several coats to notice any type of change?
Babs
Works best when pots are warm, but not hot I think. Perhaps your glaze didn' crackle as sometimes the body has an effect on this.

Guest JBaymore
AWPottery, I've found that you have to FLOW the india ink onto the piece... not "paint it on". Lots of ink... saturate it. Even better... soak it in it if it is small. If that does not work....... you might NOT have crazing on the glaze. Can you see craze lines before the india ink is put on? best, .......................john
