Pam S
My partner and I are making some of our own glazes. How much does water quality play into the outcome? City water, hard, soft distilled? Thanks.
Chris Campbell
Most of the water problems I have heard of came from using well water which can contain trace metals and minerals that affect the outcome. I just use tap water ... If you are on city type water you should be fine. This however is just an opinion that I am sure some will not agree with.<G>
clay lover
So if you are on a well, like I am, what should you do when mixing glazes?l
Chris Campbell
Do you drink your well water? If it is safe to drink and has no mineral smells, colors or taste I would try using it. Do two small test batches with regular bottled water and your well water to see if there is any difference before you mix up a big batch. Your well water might even produce a better result ... Who knows?
