neilestrick Posted April 26, 2018 Report Share Posted April 26, 2018 500/hr is basically the same as crash cooling as far as the glazes are concerned. Some controllers don't like it, though, because the kiln may not actually cool fast enough to actually meet that 500/hr rate, and you get an error code because the temp is outside the program parameters. So by programming a rate of 9999, which is crash cooling, the controller doesn't care how fast it's cooling. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
