Joe_L Posted December 31, 2016 Report Share Posted December 31, 2016 Sometimes I get black coming up from the the wheelhead making my nice white stoneware clay a bit grey during throwing. Am I failing to clean and dry the wheelhead sufficiently after use? OK I could give the wheelhead a scrub before use as well but does it actually matter - when fired will this discolouration show in the fired body or alter the properties (I guess unlikely as I doubt there's very much as a %)?
