graybeard
Yet another question (hope im not wearing out my welcome) Would copper sulfate crystals work in a pit fire? just how dangerous would it be to use it? thanks. graybeard

Marcia Selsor
I use copper sulphate crystals in a diluted solution in foil saggar firings. I mix very small amounts... 25 grams to a quarter cup of water and keep using until it is depleted. I use goggles and a vapor mask and nitrile gloves.I have noticed the wire mesh on my raku kilns is rusting... Possibly from the chemicals. I do fire frequently and thr kiln is 9 years old. Bob Coyle
I have mixed a solution of copper sulfate with saw dust and then wrapped the saw dust around pots with aluminum foil. Got some interesting burn out effects.
