artndirt
Anyone one have tips/knowledge about Gallup brick? Any insight on temperature rating would be appreciated!
Mark C.
Are this red bricks or tan firebricks? I just googled them-the photos where red bricks not for kiln use.
artndirt
Hi Mark, I've Googled too without much luck. I've got a lead on a pallet of used clean brick some are yellow/tan (leads me to think that *maybe* they could be firebrick or at least could be used in the chimney). Some other brick on the pallet are pink/red. Thanks for your time!
Mark C.
if they are named stamped and are the 9 inch x4.4x2.5 series in size with exact measurements and are tan/yellow like all firebricks they most likely will be one in chimney . You should test one or a piece of one at cone 10.To see how it handles that temp.
Magnolia Mud Researdh
Did they perhaps come from a place named "Galllup" when they were placed on the pallet?

Hirodashi
They used to be manufactured in Gallup for Train engines and structures such as houses and fire places. Today they make for great pavers.
