jrgpots
I found an article about tape casting. It talks of making a medium of 80% Elmer's glue + 20% glycerin; then adding a low fire glaze. The recipe for the glaze was: Neph sy.................8.32% Spodomene.........39.82% Wollastonite.........23.92% Flint.....................16.43% 3124....................11.52 The Elmer's/glycerin(E/G) medium was added to the glaze in the ratio of 62.96% E/G to 37.04% glaze. It was spread thin on Mylar sheets and allowed to dry. It was removed from the Mylar and used as a decal medium. It was moistened and applied to bisque ware or used as an overglaze. This sounds really intriguing. I can imagine that the this could be used like polymer clay to make canes in addition cut outs. I am sure someone here has used this type of technique. Please teach me about these possibilities, share your experiences and expertise. Jed

jrgpots
That is the very article.. So my questions are: 1. Does it work well? 2. Can I substitute any glaze? 3. What are it limitations? 4. Can I use multiple layers of different glazes and carve them? So many questions....any experiance out there? Jed
