Pete Steggs
I have a Shimpo RK-10 with traction drive that’s slipping after about 15 minutes of use. I have checked everything external such as bearing and belts. Have come to the conclusion that it’s a problem inside the metallic traction drive mechanism itself. Wondering if anyone has pulled one of these to bits and repaired it. Surely must of happened to more people than myself.have tried talking to Shimpo but they no longer support this model. Bill Kielb
I have not torn one apart but I would check the belt tension for sure and zero the pedal. The traction drive appears to be a part of the motor, so you might find complete rebuilt assembly. Here is the best in depth maintenance manual I stumbled across. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0010/1931/4239/files/rk10-troubleshooting.pdf?14401615399485494650
