Pacifica G-400 wheel troubleshooting for repair

All of a sudden, my 8 year-old Pacifica G-400 started acting up.  It doesn’t seem to matter whether I’m putting pressure on like during centering, or making some light moves, but the wheel just quickly stops.  I checked the belt, and it is in the normal range as seen in some YouTube videos.  I’m worried that the problem is in the pedal and/or controller.  Haven’t gotten a response from Laguna in California, or Axner in FL.  Does anyone have suggestions?  Thanks for your help.

When the wheel stops, can you hear the motor continue to run, or does the motor stop? If it's the belt slipping, then the motor will still run. If the motor stops, then the problem could be caused by the pedal, motor, or controller, in which case talking to Laguna/Axner is the best way to go. Does the wheel only stop when you're touching the clay, or will it stop and behave erratically even when you're not touching it?
