mr_glazy_man
Hi all, I have a decal that fires between 800-850C and am looking to add a top layer of clear gloss. Is there a recipe for a super low melting clear gloss that I can do this with? The Ferro Frits themselves are only really getting me down to about Cone 06, but it’s clear I need to go much lower than that, because the decal burns away at anything higher than 850. Simply adding boron is likely to present additional issues (3195 would be my avenue to more boron), I’m not sure if there is another flux that can melt that low (maybe lead or zinc)? I think Hanson did a test with Fusion FZ-16 that has a lovely zinc base that melts extremely well. Anyone have any ideas?
Min
Quick Glazy search brought up this one. Don't know what adding a glaze on top of the decal would do. Might be faster in the long run to remake the piece and start again.
