Molly B Posted August 17, 2022 Report Share Posted August 17, 2022 Hello, I just bought an Evenheat Model 810 Kiln, that is rated for 18 amps and 120 volts. I have a very similar kiln that puts out about the same kilowatt hours and can fire to cone 6, so I thought this kiln would be able to fire to Cone 6, but I tried firing to Cone 6 and it was running for 13 hours and never got over 1800 degrees F. Both elements were on and seemed to be working just fine. Is there a reason why this kiln wouldn't be able to do that or could there be an issue with the kiln's elements? Also I have tested the kiln sitter with a pyrometric bar and it worked fine at cone 019. Thanks! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
neilestrick Posted August 17, 2022 Report Share Posted August 17, 2022 Which model 801 is it? The 2 1/2" brick models are only rated to cone 5 1/2. The 3" brick models are rated to cone 8. Molly B Posted August 17, 2022 Author Report Share Posted August 17, 2022 Ah ok, yes I believe the bricks are 2.5", they are definitely smaller than my other kiln.
