B-mix new color

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if my clay comes from the same factory as yours, but I did notice a change in my clay color as well, although it was very subtle. I could only tell by placing one piece from older clay side by side with the new. Once it was glaze fired, I didn't see any change in the clay body color. My work has underglaze colors topped with clear, so I can't speak to the glaze color itself changing, except that they look the same to me. I do feel that the new clay is shorter than it had been previously. I read here that the talc source has changed, so that may be what's causing the difference.

Has anyone see the colour of the new CimTalc? Wondering if it's white or gray?

I've had a change in the clay I use prior to the talc change, ball clay was put down as the reason for the change. Same experience as kswan, looked and acted the same once fired.
