Alyosha
Hello, I have received ifb's and dense refractory bricks for building a backyard kiln. Some seemed to have gone through alot of wet weather. Shall dry them before building the kiln or leave it to be done in the first firing, do I have to do a firing without any pots for the purpose of drying the bricks only ? neilestrick
It shouldn't hurt to build with wet bricks, but you'll want to do a long preheat at low temp to dry everything out before firing up the kiln to high temps.
