Raylene
Hello, I have a Duncan Automatic Pro Energy Saver model 3K that stopped working. Our electrictricity went out ,needed upgrades on our panels. I had the kiln running when this happened. Now that the electric problems of house is solved and fixed, my kiln is not working I am having a heck of a time getting help with my kiln. As far as I can find ut is there's no kiln repair near me. The power at outlet was checked, its fine. the power test at switch, and toggle things inside of sitter are fine. but at the section where the feed is for elements , no readings. If i can not figure this out I am thinking about converting this kiln to propane. In doing so , what size propane tank? Can anyone give suggestions on this ? Anyone here have had experience with converting kilns? Have experience rewiring a kiln?
neilestrick
Check out THIS BLOG for good information on converting an electric to a gas kiln. Several people on this forum have used his design with good results. Just sticking a burner in it will not work well- uneven firings, difficulty reaching temperature, etc.
