Teenyp Posted April 7, 2021 Report Share Posted April 7, 2021 Hi I have made 6 mugs from white vitra stoneware clay and bisque fired at 999c I have decorated them with underglaze transfers but only had porcelain transparent glaze with a firing range of 2020c~20080c I have fired them on 2050c will the porcelain glaze be ok ? So I think that is a typo and these numbers were intended to be 1020-1080c and 1050c respectively. Not really sure if you are mixing imperial and Celsius though. The larger question is what cone is the clay, the transfer and the glaze rated? Cones reflect heatwork using them in pottery is highly desirable. Generally one fires to mature their clay and makes sure all the products used match the rating of the clay as close as practical so everything matures together.
