Hannabrotherhood
Hi Everyone! I’ve been toying with the idea of trying to make some enamelware at home. I’ve been doing a bunch of research today and there doesn’t seem to be a hobbyist style porcelain enamel coating that is food safe. Does anyone have a good source for food safe porcelain enamel coating or found a good substitute? Here’s a little descriptor of my project. I’ve made a foundry to melt down aluminum cans and used that metal to mold some pretty good aluminum mugs! (Very exciting for me). Now I’m trying to get figure out how to coat these to have a finished enamel look that is both food and dishwasher safe. any help would be greatly appreciated! liambesaw
You won't be able to enamel aluminum due to its super low melting point, but if I were going to try, I would probably check on googles patent engine. https://patents.google.com/?q=Porcelain+enamel+cast+iron&oq=Porcelain+enamel+cast+iron
