janeb
I have recently purchased a Cone art kiln. I plan to use natural clay. Any tips? Cone value to start and advice too.
Marcia Selsor
if you haven't tested the clay yet, start with low cones 08, 05, and put the test pieces on a known-clay slab in case you have a natural glaze. buy some commercial stoneware ^6 to make pieces to fill your kiln. Then put you tests in. you can bisque at 08 and 05 while testing. Then, if the clay is immature at those temperatures, start going hotter. Take them to ^5 and make sure they are in a dish- not a slab. Marcia
