Marcia Selsor
Arrived early to make sure all is well and we'll be acclimated for the group on Sunday.Near the hotel is the top of Las Ramblas leading into the Gothic Barrio. The church of Pi has one of the largest Gothic windows in Spain and has performances regularly. The Placa Reial is lined with nice restaurants to meet anyone's taste. There are lots o great places to eat. The Irati is one of my favorites. Tomorrow will go see Martin at Etorn. Time the walk from the hotel.

glazenerd
Stunning- craftsmanship on the level of art. The fourth pic is astounding: someone thought about the use of light to great lengths. Nothing like bending light to create an illusion- love it. More Please?? Nerd

glazenerd
Marcia: Love the fact that art is incorporated into everyday life. The rock tunnel is clever, cutting the roof and walls on an angle distorts the common senses and perceptions. Thanks for sharing.. Nerd
Marcia Selsor
Visited the Palau de La Musica Catalunya. This is my favorite venue for performances in Barcelona. Designed by Dominic i Montaner and built in three years, this was 10 years ahead of Gaudi. I have been to several performances here and it is wonderful.I love the Muses on stage. They are bigger than life-size. Marcia

Marcia Selsor
Great day with a trip out of town to Argentona to the museum of traditional pottery from all over the country. I saw many familiar pots from my 1985 year in Spain on my Fulbright researching traditional pottery across the country. Here I am in 1985 in Alba de Tormes with Angel, the potter. It brought back fond memories of one of the best years of my life, traveling around to visit potters and document their work. Marcia
Marcia Selsor
Friday we're working on developing personal images starting by making scrapbooks and then translating the images onto a plate a cup. Linda Rice was the instructor. She has a delightful Irish accent.

Marcia Selsor
Got home last night after 22 hours of traveling. Will post a link to my website with more pictures. Here are some small ones that fit the format here. I was able to visit the palau de Guell, the first residence commission for Gaudi. I included the way down to the stables on a bricks spiral. They had to keep the horses somewhere! and also a view from the new Design museum which includes the collection from the Pedrables Palace where it was since the Civil War. You can see the cranes working at Sagrada familia. They hope to complete the church by 2026 for the 100th Anniversary of Gaudi's death.
