PRankin
Hi everyone. I just inherited 300 pounds of this clay. I've never used it before and was wondering if anyone has experience with it. I'm interested in anything unusual or weird that I should be aware of. Most of my experience lies with low fire earthenware and Cone 10 porcelain but very little with this type of stoneware. Thanks. Joseph Fireborn
http://www.sheffield-pottery.com/4DS-Moist-Stoneware-Pottery-Clay-Body-p/mc4ds.htm Looks like a speckled brown clay. Shrinkage c/6/ox./ 10.00% Absorbtion c/6/ox./ 2.00% It has good numbers. Seems fine. Glazes will be darker on it than your white clays. PRankin
Thanks Grype. I actually did read that thread and searched google for all of the other information before posting. I'm trying to find out if there are any weird or unusual experiences that other forum members may have had. Paul
Joseph Fireborn
I have never tried it. But it looks like a pretty clay. Best way to find out is to throw or roll some test cups and try it out.
