I Thanks for your response Neil. have a SKUTT Enivrovent that goes out the roof. Here is a photo of how bad it looks. The oval plate is turned over to show the burn ring on the kiln shelf.

How did things turn out? I just had the same issue. I turned the kiln off at 800' and have burnt rings around the bottom of the pots as well as blackened kiln shelves.
