  1. Well....all done. Went out and turned it onto High finally. Fifteen minutes later, it shut off. The gap in the front of the lid was up to about a half inch.

hope you are keeping a written record of firings.   it is a good habit to form and will help you keep track of the expected  duration of each type of firing.   as the elements wear, the timing gets longer.

Yes.....I have all the glaze samples numbered and also coded for which clay body it is, The clay bodies are all marked.  There are three or four tiles of the same glaze. I also have those three materials that I tested.  Min suggested using my easy white recipe without the white. Pretty simple.....50% Colemanite and 50% whatever the other thing is. (Yes....I have Colemanite). Those are all marked as well. I also did the glaze PeterH suggested with the three materials as well.

I have a three part new glaze book....cone 6, cone 10 and "other". All cone 6 recipes and labels are RED.  All cone 10 are black. Other is blue.  I am a very methodical person.

I did a two hour open lid pre-heat on low. Then an hour on low. Then two hours on 2, 2  hours on 4 and 2 hours on 6....when I turned it up to High, it shut off about 15 minutes later.

I am really looking forward to seeing the results!
