This is really a luscious tea bowl.

Fantastic colour and texture ! Really beautiful.

 

I would still prefer to drink my tea out of an ordinary teacup with a handle though.

Frederich, this is for a very specific purpose...... Japanese Tea Ceremony.  It is not intended for "day-to-day" drinking of tea.  For that ... a yunomi or a cup/mug is far more suitable as you note.
